On Fridays, we come together to pray for a change in the President, and, barring that change; a change in the Presidency.

Scripture is clear that character is not defined only by our decisions in the big moments alone, but also by how we handle the little parts of life along the way.

Today, we want to pray specifically for these “little parts of life,” and for a President who sees the importance in the seemingly insignificant. We will pray for a return to decency by this President, and a commitment to character from our next President. Today, we will pray, and then on November 3rd, we will vote.

You can join us live as we pray this prayer at 1pm ET/ 12 CT/ 11am MT/ 10am PT on Facebook and YouTube and the Vote Common Good website.

Prayer 1 – Merciful God, we pray for a President who not only cares about the big decisions of policy and purpose, but also the small moments of character and compromise.

We pray that Donald Trump would lay down his lies, forget his false agenda and accusations of “Fake news,” and turn to the truth.

Prayer 2 – Merciful God, we pray for a President who not only cares about the big decisions of policy and purpose, but also the small moments of character and compromise.

We pray that Donald Trump would care for the considerations of those outside of his socioeconomic and political bubble. We pray that he would consider with compassion the needs of everyday Americans, and that he would act swiftly and sacrifice his arrogance in order to serve the American people.

Prayer 3 – Merciful God, we pray for a President who not only cares about the big decisions of policy and purpose, but also the small moments of character and compromise.

We pray that Donald Trump will turn from the terse words of his Twitter account, and instead speak with kindness towards those he is tasked with keeping safe.

Prayer 4 – Merciful God, we pray for a President who not only cares about the big decisions of policy and purpose, but also the small moments of character and compromise.

We pray that Donald Trump repents for the reprehensible actions of his past, and that he offers restitution to those he has harmed.

Prayer 5 – Merciful God, we pray for a President who not only cares about the big decisions of policy and purpose, but also the small moments of character and compromise.

We pray that Donald Trump abdicates his adoption of partisan principles, and instead works to bring about the progress the people of this nation need.

Prayer 6 – Merciful God, we pray for a President who not only cares about the big decisions of policy and purpose, but also the small moments of character and compromise.

We pray that Donald Trump would stop seeking the futile flames of fame and acceptance, and instead learn to seek the still, small voice of humility and wisdom.

Prayer 7 – Merciful God, we pray for a President who not only cares about the big decisions of policy and purpose, but also the small moments of character and compromise.

We pray that Donald Trump changes, but until he does, we pray that voters of faith reject the reprehensible rhetoric of Christian Nationalism and instead band together and cast their ballots for Faith, Hope, and Love on election day 2020.
