This all started in 2021 when my team and I got on bikes in San Diego and didn’t get off until St. Augustine, Florida — 3,265 miles later. We rode the length of the US-Mexico border and then along the Gulf Coast, trying to answer the question of who belongs in “we the people?”
Filmmakers followed us and turned what we heard from migrants, border residents, aid workers, and faith leaders into a film. We resumed filming during the second Trump era.
The one-hour cut of this film is what’s airing on PBS right now, and we’re still touring the full 98-minute version in person as we make stops on our Faith, Hope, & Love bus tour through the midterm election cycle (upcoming screenings in NC, MI, OK, MN, and OH!).
