Some of that history is in Eagle Pass, Texas, out on the border, where we just were with The Ride. I spoke to a group of Black Seminoles at the hotel we were staying at.
Their history goes back to the 1700s and 1800s, when African American communities and Seminole Indians came together and became one community.
They kept their culture alive through it all, and they’re part of America’s long story.
A man sitting next to us said, “I’m from Hawaii, but my parents are Japanese and German and some Mexican, so now I’m considered Mexican.”
When we talk about diversity, it’s because it’s real. It’s not some imagination that we want. Every state we’ve been to, more than twenty now, has a different piece of what it is to be America — and it’s all America — all the communities.
So, we keep going, backing the people running for Congress who will care about democracy for all, because it really matters in this election.
And I’m so pleased to announce that our friend Eric Hadar has now offered to TRIPLE every donation through Wednesday. He backed our first bus tour in 2018, and he’s showing up again, as he did earlier this election cycle, with two days left. We’re not stopping.
Your $50 will become $150 for the buses, drivers, and voter outreach that gets people to the polls.
Please give today — every dollar matters.
