These attacks by the Trump administration and ICE echo what happened in my hometown of Minneapolis, and it deserves the same level of attention.
Faith, for me, has meant never looking away and showing up for communities when you’re called.
That’s an entirely different thing than what’s being sold to us as Christian politics right now. Showing folks there’s an alternative to MAGA Christianity will be a big part of this journey.
Here’s just some of what the next sixty-eight days hold, some with details, some still coming together, but I hope you’ll be with us every step of the way:
Continued candidate visits with faith leaders running for Congress: Iowa Saturday, Tennessee next Friday.
This Sunday and Monday: on the ground in Springfield, Ohio, standing with the Haitian community and arrested pastors.
Faith, Politics, and the Common Good seminars along the road. Check the tour website for dates!
September 15 and 16: a national callout to Laredo, Texas, where local organizers need help stopping federal contractors from commandeering private land. Join us from across the country if you can! Details coming soon.
Who’s the We? premieres on PBS in September. Find screenings near you.
October 18 through 28: the Freedom Ride; more on this coming soon.
We’ll be hosting events all the way through to Election Day in November.
It costs real money to keep this bus moving, and every mile is worth it to counteract Christian Nationalism and work to flip the House blue. 68 days is not a lot of time!
Your donation of $10, $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, or even $1,000 if that’s in your budget will help us make it to all our stops and any that may pop up along the way through Election Day. I truly believe we can take this country back from MAGA, but it’s going to take all of us.
Donate what you can, and follow along and share this email and our website with your friends, even if you can’t give a dime. That matters too. Let’s do this!
