This is what people are asking for, and you can help.
Friends,
“We need to encourage each other to KEEP MOVING FORWARD because you are making a difference.” That’s what Rev. Carolyn Blair wrote me the morning after I left her church in Burlington, Iowa, last week.
Rev. Blair had invited me into Zion United Church of Christ, one stop on our Faith, Politics, and the Common Good tour. Folks in that room needed somewhere to put their fear about where this country is headed.
People don’t necessarily expect us as Democrats to pay attention to Iowa faith voters — but that’s the point! Faith voters all across the country are feeling very unsettled by what they are seeing from the White House and Christian Nationalism and are extremely encouraged when Democrats show up and listen.
|
That’s all many churchgoers are asking for when it comes to getting their vote — someone to show up and care. They are sick and tired of watching their faith get hijacked by people who use scripture to justify cruelty.
This tour isn’t about convincing red districts that they are progressive. It’s to remind folks that loving your neighbor was never a partisan position, no matter how hard Christian Nationalism has worked to make it one.
It’s to help Get Out The Vote for Democrats who are FOR the common good and who actually want to make our country a better place — for all its people.

A generous donor will match your donation right now — details here!
We were also with Lindsay James. She’s an ordained Presbyterian minister who’s served as a college chaplain, a sitting state representative from Dubuque, and now the Democratic nominee in Iowa’s 2nd District, a seat that includes Cedar Rapids and Waterloo, in a race Sabato’s Crystal Ball now rates a toss-up.
|
We aren’t stopping here. We’re on to the next stop — to Madison, Wisconsin, and Holland, Michigan, and Hershey, Pennsylvania, and more. Only 37 days remain until Election Day.
Your donation of any amount helps us turn out more voters and moves the needle that much closer to flipping the House Blue.

Every stop in every church basement or fellowship hall helps — and every donation gets us there.
In this together,
