As a history and government teacher running for State Board of Education District 6, I will use my knowledge of social studies to adjust the newly created social studies standards to make sure that ALL peoples’ history is included in the standards that Texas students use. I would also make certain that immigration history is included. Additionally, I would fight to have climate change science added to the science standards. More civics education also needs to be included in the government standards.
