Tell JD Vance He Is Wrong About Who Has A Stake In America
Never would we have believed that we would have to say this, but because of the most radical views of the Trump ticket, we have to make this clear:
Every citizen of our country has the same right to influence our democracy.
JD Vance, the current Republican vice presidential candidate, disagrees. He believes that people with biological children should have more rights than people without – even going so far as to suggest that parents should be awarded “more votes” on behalf of their children.
During a recently resurfaced video clip originally released during his Senate campaign, Vance said the country is being led “by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made…So they just want to make the rest of the country miserable too.”
Watch the clip and Doug’s response now:
There are many reasons people don’t have children and for some it’s a deeply painful reality. For others it’s a choice that is no business of others – and certainly not of the party that claims to be for personal freedoms.
But in the mind of J.D. Vance and his allies, this country only belongs to the kind of people they believe to be the right kind of American. No matter that six of the signers of the Declaration of Independence (12%) did not have children – one of them was John Hancock.
We at Vote Common Good are OUTRAGED by these comments. Anyone who peddles the belief that only they get to decide what makes someone the right kind of American has NO business being a heartbeat away from the presidency.
Please join us – add your name and tell J.D. Vance that our nation is a nation for all Americans to have an equal stake regardless of our relationship to parenthood.
