The host told me they had half a million listeners around the world. I told him, “I’ll take that!”
So, I used that airspace to say something I think Democrats need to hear: the reason faith voters have walked away has nothing to do with policy. It’s because of six words that almost never get said.
“I like you,” and “we need you.” That’s it. Six words.
The fact that so few Democratic leaders don’t say them out loud to religious communities is a political failure, but it’s also a moral one. It tells millions of people of faith that they don’t belong and that they aren’t wanted.
And then we wonder why they go somewhere else.
We’re saying these six magic words all across the country and flipping voters from red to blue. Help make it happen with a donation of any amount.
That full theater on a Wednesday night in Laguna Beach means there are people out there who need exactly what Vote Common Good is doing — and aren’t finding it anywhere else.
Somewhere out there, there’s someone who’s felt completely alone in their politics for years. Or maybe they are starting to realize that voting MAGA doesn’t align with their faith. For many, it’s both.
Hearing the stories and lived experiences of immigrants can reach them.
Hearing Democrats say “I like you” and “we need you” can reach them.
And maybe a radio interview will find them in their car on a Wednesday and reach them.
Your donation is what makes all of that happen — $10, $25, $50, $100 — any amount makes a difference and keeps us traveling, working to flip the country away from MAGA and toward the common good.
