Johana Bencomo

Johana Bencomo is the Director of Organizing with NM Comunidades en Acción y de Fe (CAFé) and the Co-Chair for the Southern Border Communities Coalition (SBCC). Johana is originally from a small colonia in Chihuahua MX, having migrated to the US with her family when she was 8 years old. Johana earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government and a Master of Social Work from New Mexico State University. She has been organizing with NM CAFé for five years, leading powerful organizing work in the national and local immigrant & border rights movement and on infrastructure needs in rural Colonia communities in Southern NM. Johana organizes because she aspire for all of us to live out our values in abundance, and not scarcity, and with a deep desire to transform our pain into power.
