This fall, our immigration documentary film, Who’s the We?, is set to air on public television stations across the country, but we need your help to make sure it airs.

Public broadcasting can only carry what viewers fund, and unless we raise the last of our goal (check our progress here), our film won’t be able to make it onto those stations.
Here’s just one story to illustrate why getting this film on air matters so much.
On July 7 — exactly one month ago — a man named Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was killed during an ICE traffic stop in Houston. Today, a caravan vigil was held in his honor.

Two weeks after Lorenzo was murdered by ICE, Lutheran bishops, Episcopal priests, Methodist pastors, and Jewish leaders stood together at the Texas Capitol to say enough is enough.
Bishop Sue Briner said, “When fear begins to shape the daily lives of our neighbors, it is time for the church to show up.” We completely agree.
These faith leaders don’t identify as “activists” — they’re doing exactly what their faith calls them to do. They’re taking a stand and saying what everyday faith voters feel and may not quite know how to put into words or take action on themselves.
This is why we made our film. All of us, in our way, have to keep going. Now, more than ever.

We rode 3,265 miles along the border with one question: who counts in the “we” of “We the People”? What we heard from strangers along the way sounds a lot like what these faith leaders said at the Capitol.
What we’re able to do with Who’s the We? is a different kind of reach, going into living rooms that will never see a news conference, where hearts and minds can still change before someone walks into a voting booth.
