Friends,
We were in Hilliard, Ohio, last week for a presentation on how we talk to each other when we see the world differently, with a focus on Faith, Politics, and The Common Good: how to engage in the election season without losing your mind, faith, or family and friends.
Afterward, a woman who helped host forwarded a thank-you note from a friend who attended. We have permission to share it anonymously.
The friend wrote: “The presentation and activities helped me view ‘the other side’ more realistically, with more definition of the nuances that lead us all to make the choices we do. It led me toward being more compassionate [and] brought peace.”
WOW. I love that.
The woman who sent it told me she learned to listen more attentively and to discuss challenging issues with people who don’t share her opinions on important topics. Then she wrote: “Now to put the skills into practice.”
This is a huge part of the reason why we’re crossing the country, speaking to supporters, voters of all kinds, MAGA voters, and Democrats — everyone.
