Welcome salt of the earth, hello light of the world.
We’re here for some good old fashioned truth tellin’, because friends, some things we’ve been hearing don’t sit so well with our souls.
You have heard it said, that “To be Christian you have to vote for a Republican,” and we’re here to be reminded that that just ain’t so.
You have heard it said that “The News is fake,” but we are here to be reminded the news is GOOD.
You have heard it said “America First!,” but we are here to be reminded to put the Kingdom of God first.
You have heard it said that we should stack the courts to get our way, but we’re here to be reminded that you can gain the whole world and lose your very soul.
You have heard it said that “We are just going to win all the time, that’s what makes us Americans,” but we’re here to be reminded that it’s the meek that shall inherit the earth.
You have heard it said that the powerful can do whatever they want, and still become a Supreme Court justice or the President of the United States, even stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot someone and not lose any support, but we are here to be reminded that if you live by the sword, you’re gonna die by the sword. And, that sword might come down on November 6.
You have heard it said that Christians are all about the 2nd amendment, but we are here to be reminded of the Second Commandment, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
You have heard it said that you need to build a wall to keep them out, but we are here to be reminded to welcome the little children and care for all those who are in need.
You have heard it said, “Vote for a tax break to take care of your 401k,” but we are here to be reminded that, “Where your money is, there is your heart is also.”
You have heard it said that “we need to separate families seeking refuge,” but we are here to be reminded that what God has brought together no one should ever separate.
You have heard it said that we should separate families at the borders, even those seeking refuge, but we are here to be reminded that that which God has brought together no one should ever separate.
And you have heard it said that you should keep your faith private and out of politics, and your politics out of your faith, but we are here to be reminded that you should let your light shine before all and not buried under a bushel basket. . . .
We’re gonna let a little light shine!
