Kori Simmons

State Senate: GA-21

The “common good” IS my guiding principal. Dr Stephen Jay Gould said in The Panda’s Thumb: “I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein’s brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.”

I’ll do him one better: I AM certain that people of equal or ever greater talents are currently languishing as delivery drivers and baristas.

But beyond that, it’s not simply what we gain; it’s what we lose. Everyone has potential, and we cannot know what that potential is unless we ensure they have the opportunity to explore it.
