The preamble of our U.S. Constitution sets forth that we agree to be governed so as to “promote the general welfare”. The government is thereby constituted and directed to create laws and initiatives that support the well-being, health, safety, and prosperity of the entire nation, rather than specific individuals, factions, or specific states. We the people, together, must live up to that directive in seeking to form a more perfect union based on principles of justice, equality, and respect for rights of our population.
