This is important. We're all in this together.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Catholics Vote Common Good today announced its first round of endorsements for the 2026 election cycle, supporting 66 candidates for the United States Senate, Congress and state legislative offices across the country.

The endorsement initiative advances the organization’s mission to put faith into action in public life by electing leaders who will uphold human dignity, pursue justice, act with compassion and strengthen solidarity. Catholics Vote Common Good is concentrating its efforts in races and districts with high percentages of faith voters, especially Catholics, where organized participation can have a decisive impact.

“This is not a ceremonial endorsement, and these are not ordinary candidates,” said Denise Murphy McGraw, National Co-Chair of Catholics Vote Common Good. “They understand that public office is a public trust. They are prepared to protect the vulnerable, defend democracy and place the dignity of every person at the center of their leadership. They represent the very best of public service, and we are thrilled to welcome them as partners in our mission.”

Catholics Vote Common Good will provide endorsed candidates with active campaign support, including volunteer recruitment, postcard campaigns, phone banking, billboards, digital communications, voter education and direct outreach to Catholic and other faith-motivated voters.

“Our endorsement is a commitment to action,” Murphy McGraw said. “We are identifying the races where faith voters can make the greatest difference and building the organizing capacity to reach them. Our national network will help candidates recruit volunteers, contact voters, expand their visibility and communicate how their values will guide their leadership. We intend to turn faith into action and action into electoral impact.”

Pope Leo XIV has made clear that participation in civic life is an important responsibility of faith. In a message to the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, he wrote that authentic democracy “recognizes the dignity of every person and calls each citizen to participate responsibly in the pursuit of the common good.”

Catholics Vote Common Good’s endorsement program answers that call by giving Catholics practical opportunities to participate in elections, support candidates who reflect the values of Catholic social teaching and help build a democracy grounded in the dignity of every person.
