This is important. We're all in this together.

There are moments in the life of the Church that inspire us not only as Catholics, but as citizens called to help build a more just and compassionate society. The release of Pope Leo XIV's first encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas, is one of those moments.

In a world increasingly shaped by technology, division, and uncertainty, Pope Leo offers a hopeful and challenging vision rooted in the dignity of every human person. His call is clear: technology must serve humanity, politics must serve the common good, and every person must be treated with dignity and respect.

One passage in particular has resonated with Catholics around the world:

"Robots do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship, or responsibility mean. It is a 'magnificent humanity' that recognizes the inviolate dignity of every person."

At Catholics Vote Common Good, we believe that message could not be more timely. It is a reminder that faith calls us beyond division and toward solidarity, compassion, justice, and the common good.

As Pope Leo's leadership continues to inspire Catholics across the globe, we are excited to share several opportunities to learn, engage, and put our faith into action.

As America Marks 250 Years, Catholic Bishops Offer a Vision Rooted in Faith

As preparations continue for America's 250th anniversary in 2026, Catholic bishops are encouraging the nation to celebrate not only its history, but also its responsibility to serve the common good.

According to Newsweek, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is developing initiatives to help Catholics reflect on the nation's founding ideals through the lens of faith. Among the efforts being considered are opportunities for prayer, service, catechesis, and a national consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Church leaders hope the anniversary will become more than a celebration of the past. Instead, they see it as an opportunity for renewal and reflection on what kind of nation Americans hope to become in the years ahead.

For Catholics, patriotism is not simply about pride in our country. It is also about our responsibility to care for our neighbors, protect human dignity, strengthen communities, and work for the common good.

As Catholics Vote Common Good works to engage Catholics in public life, the bishops' vision offers an important reminder: the best way to honor America's past is to help shape a future worthy of its highest ideals.
