A Thank You from Faith for Harris-Walz
|
Thank you for your support for the Harris-Walz campaign.
Thank you for your partnership and for the hours of volunteering — through phonebanking, moving Souls to the Polls, organizing your community, raising funds, and talking to your friends and family. Faith voters showed up for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz — and we are so proud of the race we ran and the way we ran it.

What keeps me hopeful is our solidarity and commitment to the vision this campaign lifted up for all Americans. I believe nothing is ever truly lost, only transformed when we commit to hope and move forward in faith together.
As the Vice President at Howard University, “Sometimes the fight takes a while. That doesn’t mean we won’t win.”
Honoring her call to action, we will not concede the fight that fueled this campaign, “the fight for freedom, for opportunity, for fairness, and the dignity of all people. A fight for the ideals at the heart of our nation, the ideals that reflect America at our best.”
And so we ask you to keep doing the good work, and to keep advocating for the issues that matter most to you and to our community.
In the words of the Vice President, “This is not a time to throw up our hands. This is a time to roll up our sleeves. This is a time to organize, to mobilize, and to stay engaged for the sake of freedom and justice and the future that we all know we can build together.”
It has been an honor to serve alongside you. We look forward to continuing the fight together.
Take good care and may we continue this work into new arenas!

The Silent Majority Rises

By Professor John Kenneth White, courtesy of The Hill

On election night 1960, John F. Kennedy was at home at Hyannis Port, Mass., watching the election returns. The initial glee of a potential Kennedy landslide turned dark when returns from the Midwest began to come in.
Ohio was a particular disappointment to Kennedy who had traveled to the state six times and saw overwhelming crowds greeting him. Theodore H. White described one trip where Ohioans “lined 113 miles of highway almost solidly, holding their children up to see him, tearing at him, waving at him, shrieking at him, until his staff had feared for his safety.”
